I’ve always been a fan of shots with a log of depth and darkness. This is nice, Donald. The person with the cigarette is great – I can imagine this shot working even if she was the only person present.
Thank you, Mike. I tried responding to this comment much earlier today on my iPhone WordPress app. Hopeless. Anyway. I think they both have cigarette’s going. (Or maybe it’s my eyes that are going. lol.) And I like the very subtle diagonals suggested by their cigarettes and how they’re holding them. I do love these kinds of shots. I even call them… those kinds of shots. I really do. Very interesting energy suggestive of something mysterious. This is a surprisingly old image from four years ago, before my first Leica. This is the absolutely superb Nikon 50mm 1.4 G. I just sold it over the Christmas holiday. Anyway. Thanks for commenting and sorry for the slow response.
Thanks for the reply Donald!
I noticed that my original comment has the word “log” instead of “lot”!
As for the app, I know how you feel. It is terrible for Android as well, and I try to avoid it as much as possible.
I now see that they’re both smoking after looking at the photo again. The woman near the edge of the frame is wonderful – just enough detail to know she’s there 🙂 The subtle colours in this image are also quite appealing.
